Our statement of faith

  1. THE BIBLE

We believe in the divine inspiration, plenary and verbal, of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible (2Timothy 3:16, 17); (2 Peter 1:19-21), constituted of the 66 books of the Old and the New Testament (Deuteronomy 4:2; 22:18; Revelation 22:18-19), the only written Word of God, completely free from error in its original drafting, specific revelation, unique sovereign and infallible authority in faith and life matters (Matthew 5:17; 22:29; Romans 15:4; Matthew 24:35)

  1. TRINITARY GOD

We believe in only one God (Isaiah 43:10 ; 1 Corinthians 8:6 ; Ephesians 4:4-6), Eternal (Psalms 90:2), infinite (2 Chronicles 6:18) and almighty (Genesis 17:1), Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three persons of the same divine nature (Matthew 28:19) and each one of them having a distinct office (Ephesians 2:18; 2 Corinthians 13:13 ; Galatians 4:4-6).

We believe that God the Father is the Author of his Eternal design, that he reveals himself, in a general way, through his creation. He governs it by his council and according to his providence (Romans 11:33-36; Ephesians 3:11; 1 Corinthians 15:28; Exodus 20:11; Revelation 4:11; Psalms 19:2-4; Romans I:20).

  1. JESUS-CHRIST

We believe in Jesus-Christ, our Lord (1 Corinthians 12:3), in his eternal pre-existence  (Colossians 1:17). He came in flesh (John 1:1,14,18, born from the Virgin Mary (Matthew1:18; Luke 1:34-35). We believe in his perfect divinity (John 1:1; 5:18; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 3, 6 and 8); in his perfect humanity free from sin (4:15 Hebrews), in his teaching (Matthew 28:20), in his miracles (John 10:38), in his expiatory and redeeming death, by itself fully sufficient (1 Jean 2:12, 9:12; Hebrews 10:14), in his bodily resurrection (Mark 16:6; Luke 24:39) and ascension (Acts 1:11 ).

We believe in his current ministry of High Priest, as from the ascension (Hebrews 4:14, 8:1-2), in his unique mediation near the Father (1 Timothy 2:5).

We believe that it is by Jesus alone that man can be saved (Acts 4:12) and that in his name only the believer may pray (John 14:13).

We believe in his personal and visible coming back, in power and glory (Matthew 24:30) to judge and reign (Acts 17:31 ; Matthew16:27-28; 1 Peter 4:5; Revelation 22:12).

  1. THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, in his eternal divinity (Acts 5:3-4) and personality (John 16:13-15). From the repentance and the new birth, he remains in all those who are saved by Jesus-Christ (Romans 8:9 ; 1 Corinthians 12:13 ).

We believe in the action of the Holy Spirit in the Church, granting to each child of God the capacity to live a holy life (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; 1 Peter 4:2-4), to give testimony and serve Jesus-Christ by his power (Acts 1:8 ; 1 Peter 2:9) in his Church and in the world.

We believe that the divine law is written in the believer’s heart and that the anointing of the Holy Spirit makes him understand it (Hebrews 8:8-10; 1 John 2:20).

We believe that the Holy Spirit supremely distributes one or more gifts to each member of the body of Christ, for the common edifying (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Peter 4:10-11).

  1. MAN AND SALVATION

Man: We believe that man created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27) fell and separated himself from God (Genesis 3:1-24) and, that consequently, the very whole humanity involved in the fall, remains under the dominion of Satan (Jean 8:44), in revolt, corruption and condemnation (Romans 5:I2-2l; 1 John 5:19b).

Salvation: We believe that the justification and the salvation of the man take place only by the grace of God through Jesus-Christ and are received only by repentance and the personal faith in Him (Ephesians 2:4-5,8). This salvation is not obtained by works (Ephesians 2:9), by observing the Law (Romans 3:27-28; Galatians 3:2-5; Colossians 2:16-17) nor by possible sacraments, but by faith only (Romans 3:30) by virtue of the blood poured by Jesus-Christ (Romans 3:24,25). We believe that by the Holy Spirit the regenerated man produces good works attesting the reality of his faith (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:11-14; James 2:14-26).

      6. THE CHURCH AND THE CHURCHES

The Church: We believe that the universal Church is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13), composed of all those who are saved by Jesus-Christ (Acts 2:47) in all places and all times (Romans 4:16).

We believe that the true unity of the Church is in his single Chef, Jesus-Christ (Colossians 1:18a); it is the work of the Holy Spirit alone (Ephesians 4:1-6). We believe that the supreme purpose of the Church is to glorify God (Ephesians 1:5-6). Its mission is to make disciples by the evangelization of the whole world until the coming back of the Lord Jesus-Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Marc 16:15).

Churches: We believe that the universal Church finds its expression visible in the local churches (1 Corinthians 1:2  “those in every place”), build up according to the example and lessons of the New Testament (1 Timothy 3:14-15; 1 Corinthians 14:33b; 16:1). Two signs were ordered for believers: baptism by immersion, image of his death and his resurrection with Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41, 8:12); the meal of the Lord, under the two species: commemoration, “until he comes”, of the work achieved by Jesus-Christ on the cross, “once for all” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Hebrews 10:1-14). We believe that the direction of each local church is entrusted by the Lord to men whom he calls and qualifies with the spiritual gifts, necessary to the exercise of their ministry (Acts 14:23 ; Romans 12:4- 8; 1 Peter 4:11). However, the call, the gifts and the recognition of their duties do not give them neither supremacy nor special powers (Acts 10:25-26; Galatians 2:11 ; Colossians 2:8).

      7. THE AFTERLIFE

We believe in the rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18: 1 Corinthians 15:51-52) and in the resurrection of all human beings (John 5:28-29; Acts 10:42 ). Those who are saved will resurrect for the eternal (John 11:25; 1 Peter 1:3-5) and those who are lost for the judgment, followed by the eternal punishment (John 5:29; Matthew 25:46).
